Hoener Farms (H.CO Handmade), 820 Duell Road, Millbrook, NY
H.CO Handmade and Hoener Farms host an immersive Timber Framing Workshop January 3-10 in the Hudson Valley. This hands-on class, led by Jason Fox of Never Stop Building and Maximilian Hoener of H.CO Handmade, explores traditional timber framing and joinery through real-world project work on a custom structure slated to become a communal timber-built space on site.
Participants will spend the week learning a mix of Eastern and Western woodworking techniques, including intricate Japanese joinery and classic mortise-and-tenon framing. Instruction covers layout and design, tool use and setup, finishing techniques, timber hewing, and collaborative assembly. The workshop culminates with a collective raising of the project and a celebratory gathering on January 10.
Located at Hoener Farms in Millbrook, NY, this intensive experience includes daily instruction, access to a fully equipped woodshop, and homemade meals prepared with local ingredients. Accommodations are not included, but nearby lodging options are recommended for participants traveling from afar.
