Trixie Starr is getting her act together and taking it on the road. The wonder woman who masterminded the first annual Hudson Pride Parade last June has teamed up with actor and musician Tom Judson for Christmas with Tom & Trixie: Is That All There Is?, which promises to be a campy holiday show. Residents of Hudson, Tom & Trixie are debuting the show in White Plains on December 2, and then making their Rural Intelligence region premiere in Pittsfield on December 5 at Jae's Spice. "It's because of you," says Trixie, who read in RI that Pittsfield had to cancel its autumn Out in the Berkshire drag brunch because a drag queen could not be found. "The drag queen drought in Pittsfield is over, and we are looking forward to Trixie's Christimas show this weekend," says Megan Whilden, the city's director of cultural development. The Pittsfield show is a benefit for Out in the Berkshires. Tom & Trixie play Albany on December 9, Poughkeepsie on December 16 and return home on the eve of Christmas eve for a benefit at the Hudson Opera House. As Trixie makes perfectly clear in her answers to our 20 questions, there's no place like home.
