May 30, 7:30pm | Pittsfield, MA
Yacht Lobsters are back by popular demand at the Colonial Theatre, which tells you something about how the first Pittsfield show went. The New York City band, founded in 2022 by the team behind Brother Joscephus and the Love Revolution, plays the smooth-sailing soft rock of the late 1970s and early 80s: Steely Dan, the Doobie Brothers, Hall & Oates, Toto, and their ilk, reproduced with a full horn section, silky harmonies, and just enough jazz improvisation and New Orleans funk to keep things from getting stale.
The Colonial Theatre is a well-restored 1903 London-style hall with good acoustics and a Gilded Age look that is somehow the right room for an evening built around "What a Fool Believes" and "Peg." Tickets are $30 general, $40 premium.
Colonial Theatre, 111 South St., Pittsfield, MA. Tickets at berkshiretheatregroup.org or (413) 997-4444.
