The Berkshire Museum’s Whale of a Gala set sail Friday, Aug. 20 at Arrowhead, the Pittsfield, Mass. former estate of author Herman Melville and current home of Berkshire County Historical Society. Nearly 200 guests attended the outdoor celebration featuring shanty band Sharks Come Cruisin’, a bucking shark, and photobooth fun with Berkshire Mirror Moments. Together with the Benefactor Dinner in honor of Suzanne Nash held earlier this month, the Whale of a Gala raised close to $200,000 in support of education and culture at the Berkshire Museum, with a focus on the museum’s innovative new Mobile Museum Unit (MoMU) project, which will create new programming opportunities at the museum and throughout the community.
