June 6–7, 5:30–9pm | Adams, MA

The Revival House at 17 Commercial Street in Adams is opening its downstairs parlor to the public this weekend for "Wine Parlor + Bites," a limited summer series running Friday and Saturday evenings throughout June. The concept is intimate: eight dates, a rotating menu that changes week to week, and seating capacity kept small enough to be social.

The series launched in partnership with local chef Xavier Jones, a Philadelphia native who has had a big presences in the North County restaurant scene for the better part of a decade. Jones first opened Bigg Daddy's Philly Steak House on Commercial Street in Adams in 2016, moved it to Pittsfield, and then reopened at Mass MoCA in 2023. He has been involved in restaurants up and down Berkshire County for years, and his approach to food is a mix of his influences: Cajun spices, South African fruit preparations, and combinations that don't have much precedent in the local dining scene.

The opening weekend menu includes a Revival Salad of Gala apples, raisins, radishes, cucumber, and walnuts in a honey citrus vinaigrette; a charcuterie board for two; coconut shrimp; rosemary truffle fries; and fried chili-glazed ribs. The menu is designed to pair with wine.

The Revival House is a small inn on Commercial Street in Adams, which puts it in useful proximity to the Adams Theater, Mount Greylock, and Mass MoCA a few miles down the road in North Adams. The Wine Parlor series represents a new programming direction for the property—one worth watching as the summer develops.
