The Warner Theatre screens the 1996 slasher film Scream on Halloween night, then brings out David Arquette, who played Deputy Dewey Riley in the seminal horror film, for a moderated interview and audience Q&A. The evening, “Behind the Scream: A Live Conversation with David Arquette." It is the last date of a 14-stop anniversary tour that began October 8 in Roanoke, Virginia, and play Lowell, Massachusetts, and Schenectady, New York, this week. The film turns 30 in December.

Arquette is slated to talk about his career and what Scream has meant for him and for horror. Scream was directed by Wes Craven and written by Kevin Williamson. According to the film’s history, Arquette was called in to audition for Billy Loomis and asked Craven to let him read for Dewey instead. Dewey was written to die in the first film, but Craven kept him alive after audiences responded warmly to the character. Arquette has played Dewey in the original and six sequels, and has credited Craven with mentoring him during Scream 2.

A limited number of VIP tickets include the best seats and a post-show photo with Arquette.
