
Jamie Larson reports from Hudson.The Hudson Opera House hosted an elegantly synergistic and stylish book event on Saturday, November 23. The talk and signing featured the authors of three books that showcase the beauty of design in Hudson Valley gardens, architecture, and interior design. The historic Opera House’s side hall was standing room only for the presentations by Jane Garmey, author of Private Gardens of the Hudson Valley, architects Alan Barlis and Dennis Wedlick, authors of Classic and Modern: Signature Styles and Joan Osofsky and Abby Adams, authors of Love Where You Live. Playwright/composer Mary Murfitt who edited Classic and Modern, Wedlick and Bonnie Hundt of the Hylton Hundt Salon in Millerton; Illustrator R.O. Blechman and author Jennifer Berne.


Principal Urban Designer for NYC Parks Charles McKinney, writer and photographer Benjamin Swett, Katherine Swett, and Executive Director of the Design Trust for Public Space Susan Chin; Olana Landscape Coordinator Mark Prezorski, Owen Davidson, and architect Jim Joseph.

The assembled Panel couldn't help but recognize the harmony their three stylish books create when presented together. (Alan Barlis, Dennis Wedlick, Abby Adams, Joan Osofsky and Jane Garmey.)


The Opera House was packed Saturday; Brendan Kelly, Taylor Schultz, and Executive Director of the Friends of Claremont Conrad Hanson.
