July 26, 9am–3pm | Austerlitz, NY | $10 adults, free under 12

The Austerlitz Historical Society marks the 25th anniversary of its Blueberry Festival on July 26, an all-day event on the grounds of Old Austerlitz. The day opens with a blueberry pancake breakfast and runs through early 19th-century craft demonstrations, antiques, artisan vendors, children's activities, and live music until 3pm.

Old Austerlitz is an 20-acre living history museum complex includes eight functioning 18th- and 19th-century buildings, among them the 1794 Morey-Devereaux House and Barn, a working 1850s blacksmith shop, a small 1853 community church, and an 1852 one-room schoolhouse. Founded in 1988, the historical society sits in a town established in March 1818, six miles from the Berkshire-Columbia County line. The festival gives visitors a chance to walk through all of it while the blacksmith demonstrates his trade and artisans sell their wares.

General admission is $10 for adults, free for children under 12; the pancake breakfast carries an additional charge of $10 for adults and $5 for kids. The event runs rain or shine. Proceeds go directly toward the historical society's ongoing preservation work—maintaining the post-and-beam buildings, the church, and the schoolhouse that make up the campus, and continuing the organization's broader mission of documenting and safeguarding the town's history.
