Actors Michelle Gomez and Jack Davenport to perform "His Girl Friday" at Triplex Fundraiser
The Hollywood stars and Real-life married couple share a stage for the first time, reading Rosalind Russell and Cary Grant's roles at Barrington Hall.

The Triplex Cinema holds its annual fundraiser on September 19, an abridged staged reading of Howard Hawks's 1940 newsroom comedy His Girl Friday at Barrington Hall. Married actors Michelle Gomez and Jack Davenport read the roles made famous by Rosalind Russell and Cary Grant and it's the first time the two have shared a stage together, despite both being established West End performers.
Gomez, a BAFTA TV Award nominee widely known for playing Missy on "Doctor Who," appears nationwide this fall in the independent Scottish film The Incomer. Davenport, an Olivier Award recipient, has television credits including "The Morning Show" and Masterpiece's "The Forsyte Saga," and played Commodore James Norrington across all three Pirates of the Caribbean films.
Joining them is David Rasche, an Emmy winner for "Succession" who recently starred on Broadway in "Cult of Love," reading the role of the Mayor. A roster of well-known Berkshire actors and theater-makers rounds out the cast: Kevin Coleman, Robert Zuckerman, David Joseph, Jim Frangione, MaConnia Chesser, Matt Neely, Greg Boover, Daniel Osman, John Viscardi, Thom Whaley, Maya Jackson, Chris Brophy, Kevin O'Rourke, Robbie Robles, and Dave Edson.
Matthew Penn directs. Penn has directed or produced over 200 shows, including an Emmy-nominated stint on "Law & Order" and numerous entries in Barrington Stage's "10x10" short-play series.
The Triplex, a nonprofit independent theater purchased by the community in 2023, keeps ticket prices low to preserve access to moviegoing, and this fundraiser directly supports that mission alongside general operating costs. Nicki Wilson, the Triplex's former Board President and the reading's producer, credited the strength of the lineup to the actors' appreciation for what the theater means to the community.
The evening includes a paddle raise and food following the reading.
